What is a whole food vegan diet?

Whole food vegan lifestyle is not about any strict dieting or restriction, it is a lifestyle full of beauty, richness and most importantly health! This kind of diet is based on vegetables, fruits and legumes. The difference between a vegan diet and a raw food diet is that raw food is unprocessed - therefore uncooked.

Vegans include cooked lentils and beans, quinoa, potatoes and other vegetables which they choose to cook or which need cooking (grains). Being vegan does not necessarily equal being healthy. A healthy vegan person eats lots of raw fruits and vegetables, and no processed foods. Nowadays, there are so many meat and milk alternatives, which are still processed foods based on mostly 3 ingredients:

- flour

- vegetable processed oils

- added sugar

This totally does not equal healthy! To achieve actual health, we must move towards unprocessed food. Being vegan is just the beginning. But certainly a movement towards a right direction. If you are transitioning into vegan diet, the meat and milk alternatives and snacks can help you stay vegan. However, keep moving forward towards unprocessed food.

I follow the work of the following plant-based doctors. These doctors are based in the US and UK. So if you are looking for some science behind the benefits of eating plants, then these are the right people to follow and to learn from!
