My story, my passion and my own re-discovery
Throughout our lives we encounter different people and experience various situations which shape us. I grew up in a beautiful country in central Europe - Slovakia, a country with rich traditions and warm-hearted people. At the age of 17 I moved to the Netherlands, where I attended an international high school. Soon enough I realized how tough this had been as I encountered multiple challenges. Getting to know the Dutch culture, while trying to be an excellent student with a vision to get a university degree and become a successful academic with a bright future was challenging. Eventually, I did finish my high school, finished universities and got a job where I could apply my food law related skills.
Soon enough I realized that to get where I eventually got took a whole lot of energy and precious time that cannot be recovered. Long nights, studying hard and always trying to do my best (at school and work) and eating mindlessly took a toll on me. Grateful for my degree and the beginning of my career, however lacking the vital energy made me realize that there was time for an actual break and actual awareness. I started to improve my diet, consumed no junk, adjusted my sleep schedule, drank lots of water and do everything it takes to take good care of myself, physically as well as emotionally. Hitting the lows in my young adulthood has opened my eyes. I'd never have guessed that a young person can feel the way I felt....I was lucky to have loving people around me who helped me get through this life exam.
A new beginning
Little did I know that this experience was actually just a beginning of a healthier new me. As I have started to pay more attention to what my body was telling me and what it needs to stay balanced, things have slowly started to change. From that point onward, I have had ups and downs as I had my job and responsibilities tied to it. This experience has taught me how important active relaxation is. In order to thrive it is essential to incorporate a few wellness daily habits into your life in order to maintain the energetic balance. Practice makes perfect. Besides nutritious, plant-based, mostly raw food, yoga and meditation have become my daily practice to enable me deal with daily stressors and recover from the whole day of ''doing." Sometimes simply ''being'' is enough.
Documentaries that inspire
At the beginning of my well-being journey I have watched a countless amount of documentaries which inspired me to become a healthier, and a more balanced version of myself. All these documentaries have one thing in common: plant-based food.
Some of the most inspiring documentaries for me are the following:
* Food Inc
* Forks over Knives
* Food Matters
* Fat, sick and nearly dead
* What the health?
I am pretty sure that if you watch these, it'll change your life forever, it definitely has changed my perception of the world and our values and standardized believes about what is right for us. Thanks to these documentaries I managed to get back on track and re-discover the plant power, the power of nutrition, the benefits that are countless, reaching from physical to emotional well-being! A life that is disease-free and a life in which you can thrive instead of just surviving.
The journey of self re-discovery
All these discoveries led me to the point where I was eager to experiment with food more, I believe that kitchen is my most favorite place to be (together with my yoga mat). As a result, I fell in love with real food and it has become my passion to create new recipes and re-create traditional ones to inspire others around me. I have recently also learned about the power of raw food and I have decided to study the power and healing properties of raw food in order to become a raw food nutritionist so that I can help you understand how the food can enable your body to heal and teach you to eat in a way that energizes and balances your body and mind.
Life gets tricky, and there are obstacles we all face, however I believe that everyone has the right to claim their health, since its our primary human right. I truly hope that I will inspire you to re-discover your authentic you, re-claim your well-being back through sharing practical, tasty, healthy and non-time consuming recipes and other lifestyle tips and tricks thanks to which you will find the balance in your life.
So are you willing to invest in a healthy, thriving version yourself?
Then let me welcome you to my world with plants at heart,
I hope you'll enjoy the journey as much as I do,
